The Great Library

The reconstruction of the Great Library of Celsus in Ephesus, Turkey with Trimble Construction to create a modern re-use of the Roman ruin alongside its digital twin. From 7,000 miles away, with a point cloud survey of the 2,000 year old ruin, we collaborated in virtual space with consultants and stakeholders around the world in real time to develop a structure that overlays the history with modern narrative media. Inside, articulated tapestries portray hypothetical dialogues from antiquity. A mixed reality overlay records the project team’s evolution of the design as an example of connected construction.
